The Human Centipede Review

Well it is safe to say that I will never be getting that hour and a half of my life back!

It was a stupidly disturbing film, with very little plot, absolutely no character evolvement and very boring camera techniques. I don't think I will be looking into the writer and director, Tom six's career any time soon!

The film is exactly what it says on the tin, the care of two female american backpackers breaks down in the middle of nowhere (a typical horror film cliche) so they find a house and go in and ask to use the phone. Only to be greeted by a very odd, human hating surgeon, who drugs them and puts them in his home made hospital in the basement. They are then joined by a Japanese man who is the front of the centipede and so therefore the lead and speaker and decision maker for them, the fact that he is Japanese and so subtitled throughout would only seem useful if the filmmakers are that desperate that they have to try and entice other countries into watching this so called film.

Most of the film is about the lead up to the surgery to make this creature, which is then done very quickly and followed by the surgeon treating them like a dog, by trying to get then to walk together and give him is paper.

The film ends in an undramatic shoot out from two stupid police men who do everything against their handbook, making it very hard for the audience to believe in.

I understand that people have to think outside of the box to create a new idea for a horror film, but this is juts too far and misses out the main components altogether. It is neither an intense sweaty palm scare or a bloody gore- fest. Instead it follows a psychotic surgeon, with three individuals sewn together in horrible places. The audience cannot sympathise with these characters, because they barely talk or have big roles.

I therefore guarantee that the watching of this film will leave you not with fear and anxiety but disappointment and frustration... so don't waste your time!!
